Who we are

Big Hill Beach Cottages is a family-run collection of six self-contained holiday cottages near Crescent Head on the NSW Mid-North Coast. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

When you send us a message through the contact form on this site, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, email address, phone number and the message itself. We collect this so we can answer your enquiry, help you plan a stay and follow up if you’ve asked us to. You don’t need an account to browse the site.

Bookings and payments

Bookings and payments are handled by Checkfront, a third-party booking system, through the “Check availability” and booking pages. When you make a reservation, the details and payment information you enter are collected and processed by Checkfront under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive the booking information we need to confirm and manage your stay, but we don’t see or store your full card details.

How your enquiry reaches us

Contact-form messages are delivered to us by email through a third-party mail delivery provider. That provider handles the message on its way to our inbox so that we receive and can reply to your enquiry.

How we use your information

We use the information you share to respond to your enquiries, take and manage bookings, and keep in touch about your stay. We only use it for the reason you gave it to us, a related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone except the providers that help us run bookings and email, or where we’re required to by law.

Looking after your information

We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure and to hold it no longer than we need it. If you’d like to know what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, just get in touch and we’ll help.
